Sweet Dreams...

Remember the fancy sleep mask worn by Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's?"

Designed as a replica from the movie, Mary Green has created this eye mask from pure silk, softly padded and edged with gold trim. Decorated with a quirky eye design, it has glitter speckled eyelids and jewel-like eyes. So cute!

I could use some "Holly Golightly-style" beauty rest for sure. If you need some too, you can purchase these adorable sleep masks here.

Sweet Dreams!

Ethereal Eye Candy.

Happy Ever After~
Is this what Cinderella saw through her eyes?

That is the title of this stunning blog post by Jamie Beck, From Me to You.

I was elated to discover Jamie via fellow blogger Shilo while searching photo credit for that lovely pink chair image that I recently posted. Funny thing is that I had swoon over Jamie's blog before, but just assumed that the photos were random images taken from the internet. But no, the entire blog is Jamie's brilliant photography.

Jamie resides in New York City, collects vintage cameras and typewriters, and shares her beautiful photography with us. These images are of Jamie daydreaming among the French rooms that inspired her at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Stunning, don't you agree?

For more amazing eye-candy, be sure and visit Jamie's blog From Me to You here.

Happy Birthday Dear Bannie. You are Missed...

Exactly one year ago today, I joyfully posted about my grandmother's (Bannie's) 100th birthday celebration. Her goal was to reach 100 and she did it with style and grace.

What a glorious celebration it was! One I'll never forget. Sadly, she passed away a couple of months later.

One year later, as I'm missing her so, I'm reminiscing about the fun we had that day, as well as a lifetime of joy having experienced the love of a most amazing woman.

So, today Bannie would have been 101 years old. There's always a first for everything. This is the first year I can't call to wish her a Happy Birthday. The first year we won't be having a party in her honor. The first year of not seeing her eyes light up as that birthday cake comes through the door with all the candles. She would have loved it.

So, in honor of Bannie, and the joy she brought so many, I'm going to sing to her. Just as I always did on the phone first thing in the morning...

Happy Birthday to You...
Happy Birthday to You...
Happy Birthday Dear Bannie...
Happy Birthday to You...

Bannie, you are remembered and missed by the many lives you touched. Your good nature, caring, nurturing and enthusiasm continues to grace our lives...

Happy Birthday my sweet Bannie.

The Goats are Here!

Just like a holiday, I look forward to our once or twice a year visit of goats. That's right...goats in the City.

The folks at Goats R Us provide a truly natural weeding service on overgrown lots citywide. Numerous goats are transported from neighborhood-to-neighborhood in San Francisco to eat unwanted plants. There is another company, City Grazing that is part of this environmental movement as well.

Vito and I took a little walk to see the goats. Do you know how funny it is to see a bunch of goats on a neighborhood block in the City? They are fenced in, so it was a little difficult to get close-ups.

Urban farming at its finest.

Aren't they cute?

Are You Related?

Sometimes I feel badly when I stumble upon boxes of old family photos that no one seemed to care about saving. But then again, there are folks that collect these "found images" and these "nameless" people get an instant family.

Here are some found images that made me chuckle...{sad, but one day someone will be chuckling at my photo!}

Our First Day of Summer.

Yesterday Vito and I celebrated our first day of summer in our usual celebratory fashion --at the beach.

Most of you have heard me whining since June. It's usually bitter cold in San Francisco during the traditional summer months, and then we heat up during "Indian Summer" in September and October. Not yesterday. After weeks of heavy fog, gray days and blistering windy cold nights, we are having our first mini-heat wave.

I played hooky and Vito and I went to our usual place of celebration, Crissy Field Beach. No matter what I'm in the middle of, when that sun decides to made an appearance in San Francisco, I drop everything and I'm off to the beach!

Crissy Field Beach is along the Bay shore and the perfect place for family outings, bike rides, sailboarding, wading and shoreline strolls.

So many cute little kids and lots of doggies!

There are magnificent views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito and Alcatraz...

Little Vito loves riding the waves...

Of course I had to throw in one of these "feet" shots since I've never taken one before. Especially with Golden Gate in the background. Forgive the long-overdue pedicure. And if for some reason you're looking closely at my feet...it's sand...

The City was so bright and clear that I couldn't resist taking photos of the Palace of Fine Arts on the ride home.

Ahhh....what a glorious day it was. Little things like wearing sandals makes me sooo happy!

Thanks for letting me share my day, as I've been so envious of everyone's "summer fun" as I've been *sigh* sulking in the fog.

But, I'm not getting too excited yet...fog is supposed to be rolling back toward the end of the week, so brace yourself for more whining!

Cheers!
